Really strange epic battle dream. There were three kings, and they were each leading their knights and generals into a massive battle with one another. However, while the context of the world this was taking place in kept changing, as did the characters from whose point-of-view I followed events, the three main characters - the kings - remained the exact same.

The dream began in a futuristic setting aboard starships, with the kings being the starship captains. I saw this from the point-of-view of a member of the starship crew preparing for the battle. Then the setting shifted to a fantasy sword-and-sorcery D&D-type setting, with everyone riding off to the battle on horseback. I saw this part from the point-of-view of one of the kings, and learned this way that the three kings had cellphones and were taunting each other via text message before the battle began. That shifted things into a present-day setting where I was away from the battle, but aware of it from the point-of-view of a child in one of the kingdoms hiding from the battle in his house with his family, while his parents tried to comfort him with nursery rhymes. Things then shifted back to the D&D setting again; the battle had happened, and I watched the citizens of the winning kingdom celebrating the victory.

There was a sentence that was spoken by different characters in the different settings, and it's still stuck in my head upon awaking: "Roses are forever and ever, any old way, anyway." It was a spoken password to something on the starship, it was a magic spell spoken by a wizard in the D&D world, it was part of a nursery rhyme read to the child in the modern-day setting, and it was part of a celebratory song again in the D&D world. I awoke with that sentence echoing in my head.
